Arthur "Mike" Slate, 88, died Dec. 9, 2010, in Carson City. He was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Oregon to Aaron and Leona Slate. He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Carson City; sons Steven of Fresno, Calif., Chris (Ann) of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Roger (LeeAnn) of Carson City; sisters Idella Marshall, Lucy Halberson, Margaret Larsen, Donna Robertson, Pauline Robeck, Doris Anderson and Ginger Achterberg; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services are pending and will be held in Bend, Ore. Walton Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
