The turnout for the Carson City Democratic Central Committee caucus Saturday wasn't as big as had been anticipated, but party members accomplished all their goals.
"It was smaller than expected - there were less than 100 - but it went really well, and we had an enthusiastic crowd," said Karen McEntire, central committee chairwoman.
Lobbyist and former Nevada lawmaker Ernie Adler spoke on behalf of Rory Reid of Las Vegas, the Democratic hopeful for governor.
Carson City Supervisor Robin Williamson also spoke. She is running for a Nevada Assembly seat being vacated by Assemblywoman Bonnie Parnell, D-Carson City.
Rob Potter, spokesman for the Nevada Vision Stake-holder Group spoke about the activities of the group, McEntire said, and U.S. Sen. Harry Reid sent a videotape.
Precincts elected delegates to the county convention to be held at 9 a.m. April 24 at Eagle Valley Middle School, members were nominated to the central committee and resolutions were passed for the county platform, she said.
"We just want everyone to know that the Democrats are alive and well. We are not in decline or disarray. We will be out in force for the primary and general elections, and have bent over backwards to be bi-partisan," McEntire said.
