Health Inspections

The following health inspections are for the period of Dec. 17-24:

• Casino Fandango Restaurant, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 95 points. Food preparation sinks or equipment/utensil washing sinks are used for hand washing. Observed dishwasher fail to wash hands at the proper intervals while touching hair and preparing to put on gloves, and washed hands in the wash and rinse water of the 3-C sink. This dishwasher needs to wear a cap to restrain his hair while on the job, as the other employees do.

• Casino Fandango Cabaret Bar/Lounge, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 98 points. One active speed gun holster needs biofilm buildup removed. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean.

• Casino Fandango Video Bar/Lounge, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Casino Fandango Sports Bar/Lounge, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Casino Fandango Bird Bar/Lounge, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 94 points. The concentration of chlorine chemical sanitizing solution for the glass washer in use 24 hours per day has no measurable chlorine in the final rinse. Corrected on site. Staff shall verify proper sanitizer levels at the beginning of each shift. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean. The speed gun holster currently in use needs biofilm removed.

• Round Table Pizza Restaurant, 3325 Retail Dr. #110-115, scored 99 points. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces do not contain sanitizer residual.

• The Lady Tamales, 933 E. Woodside Dr. #102, scored 100 points.

• The Camo Cafe, 2460 Fairview Dr., scored 100 points.

• National's Cafe, 1701 N. Carson St., scored 99 points. Found equipment parts being soaked in the kitchen hand sink.

• Pho 8 Restaurant, 248 E. Winnie Lane, scored 100 points.

• City Cafe Bakery, 701 S. Carson St., #1, scored 100 points.

• City Cafe Bakery Restaurant, 701 S. Carson St., #1, scored 100 points.

• Heidi's Dutch Mill Restaurant, 1020 N. Carson St., scored 98 points. Food contact surfaces of the ice machine contained some debris.

• Super Mercado El Torito Retail Grocery, 304 E. Winnie Lane, scored 99 points. No "no smoking" sign was found at the front entrance.

• Super Mercado El Torito Meat Department, 304 E. Winnie Lane, scored 98 points. Food is stored in containers which are inadequately covered and unlabeled. Specifically peppers and chicharrones were found in containers not completely covered and not labeled. Cold holding thermometers were not present or not working in the meat display cases.

• Super Mercado El Torito Bakery, 304 E. Winnie Lane, scored 100 points.

• Golden Dragon Restaurant, 3250 Retail Dr. #150, scored 86 points. Found employee eating a meal and drinking from an open cup in the kitchen on the prep/service counter. Observed staff bussing dirty dishes from tables, delivering them to the kitchen dish washing area, then returning to the dining room to take orders, talk on the phone or dish up soup in the kitchen - all without first washing hands after touching the dirty dishes. Found the dishwasher in active use with no measurable residual chlorine sanitizer. Dishwasher was primed and run twice before proper sanitizer levels were reached. Found prepared vegetables and meats stored in non-food grade plastic grocery store bags - repeat violations from June 16. Found meats thawing in the 3-C sink while dishes were being washed in the middle basin. There is no certified food handler on duty. This facility is required to have at least one certified food handler on duty at all times.

• International House of Pancakes, 3883 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Video Centro Mini Mart Takeout, 2765 E. Highway 50 #A, scored 99 points. Food was found stored in containers which were unlabeled. Specifically prepared foods in the walk-in cooler and salsas on display for sale were in containers with no date or name.

• Video Centro Mini Mart Meat Department, 2765 E. Highway 50 #A, scored 99 points. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces were not stored in a sanitizer solution at the time of this inspection.

• Video Centro Mini Mart Convenience Store, 2765 E. Highway 50 #A, scored 100 points.

• Video Centro Mini Mart Bakery, 2765 E. Highway 50 #A, scored 100 points.

• Wendy's #4 Restaurant, 4140 S. Carson St., scored 98 points. Floors are not properly cleaned. Floors in the cook line area had accumulated water from the overhead leak. The ceiling over the cook line was not maintained in good repair. Water was leaking through. Do not allow water to splash onto food areas.

• Taco Bell #3, 4050 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Carson Station Sports Bar, 900 S. Carson St., scored 99 points. Food establishments which sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on premises are required to post signs concerning birth defects. No signs sere found during this inspection.

• Carson Station Main Bar, 900 S. Carson St., scored 99 points. Food establishments which sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on premises are required to post signs concerning birth defects. No signs sere found during this inspection.

• Carson Station Coffee Shop, 900 S. Carson St., scored 92 points. Readily perishable cold food is held above 46 F and not maintained at 40 F or less. Small cartons of chocolate milk were found in the small side station refrigerator at 49 F. This milk was also out of date. Food was found stored in containers which were unlabeled, specifically pre-made bulk salads in the walk-in cooler. Food contact surfaces inside the ice machine contained debris and were not clean.

• Carson Station Cantina Restaurant, 900 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Carson Station Snack Bar, 900 S. Carson St., scored 99 points. There was no cold holding thermometer in the refrigerator drawer under the stove.

• Carson Station Grille Catering, 900 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.
