Mildren and Irving Nielsen celebrated their 60th anniversary with a New Year's Eve get-together at the home of JoAnn Valladon. Friends Mattie and Hank Voth and Jan Baldwin also joined the celebration.
Millie and Irv were married on Dec. 31, 1949, in North Dakota. They visited many places before deciding to retire in Carson City in 1985. They have been residents of Comstock Mobile Home Park for 24 years. Both have been active in the community, including in Natives and Newcomers and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
