Austin's House would like to extend our sincere thanks to the employees and doctors at Sierra Surgery Hospital in Carson City for adopting the children at Austin's House this holiday season.

The hospital collected food, toys, blankets, pillows, teddy bears, books and presents. A trailer provided by Hettrick Electric was needed to deliver all of the gifts to Austin's House on the Monday before Christmas.

Sierra Surgery Hospital also thoughtfully purchased gifts for the staff at Austin's House.

The sheer volume of the donation overwhelmed Kathleen Miller, executive director at Austin's House and her assistant, Paula Hennefer.

There were tears of joy when they were handed an envelope containing gift cards and $1,400 in cash donations.

Austin's House is the only emergency children's shelter in rural Northern Nevada.
