Obituary: Ross D. Mitchell

Ross D. Mitchell died Jan. 13, 2010, at the Evergreen Rehab Center. He was born Aug. 10, 1924, to Thomas and Neva Mitchell in Puente, Calif. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edith; daughters and husbands Deborah and Gene Moore of Dayton, and Marlene and Lee Bess of Paradise, Calif.; five grandchildren and their spouses and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Carson City on the corner of Division and Musser streets. There will be a reception at the Elk's Lodge in Carson City following the service. Inurnment with military honors will be 10 a.m. Monday in the veterans section at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
