A fundraiser at McDonald's last week raised more than $1,000 for Carson City schools.

For one day, all the proceeds from selected menu items were donated to the patron's school of choice.

It was part of the Kassity Family School Fund where 25 cents from certain products is given to schools that have signed up for the program.

From last Friday's sales, Seeliger Elementary School raised $431.55, Fritsch Elementary School $288.82, St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School $259.14, Bethlehem Lutheran School $104.55 and Bordewich-Bray Elementary $57.59.

The total was $1,141.65.

Throughout the rest of the year, 25 cents from selected products will go to participating schools.
