Spiritualist: A number of skeptical people believe that Dr. Slade prepares his slates chemically and brought their own slates to be written on. However, the slates were written on by the spirits as easily as the ones Dr. Slade had done. Slate communications from dead friends were taken home by several parties and framed as souvenirs.
