LAS VEGAS (AP) - A murder trial was set March 22 for the 26-year-old estranged husband of a mother of three whose body was never found after she disappeared in December 2008.

Francisco Vazquez-Rosas pleaded not guilty Thursday and Clark County District Court Judge James Bixler ordered him held without bail pending trial in the disappearance of Teresa Guzman.

Prosecutor Christopher Lalli told the judge that Vazquez-Rosas confessed to police, and his children told a grand jury they saw their daddy kill their mommy and put her in a trash bin.

Lalli says Vazquez-Rosas is an illegal immigrant who poses a flight risk.

Defense lawyer Dan Silverstein says the childrens' accounts are unreliable and his client's police statement is invalid.

Silverstein says maybe Guzman left to start a new life, or was deported.
