On behalf of Carson Middle School teachers and the OCEA, we would like to send our sincere thanks to these businesses for contributing to our Teacher's Appreciation Week activities and raffles: Red's Old 395 Grill-Carson City; Costco-Carson City; Starbucks Coffee-North Carson; Walmart-Minden; and World Gym-Minden. We would also like to thank Trader Joe's-Minden, and Starbucks Coffee-South Carson, for donating to us in the years past. It was extremely thoughtful and of you, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Thanks for aid

during dog attack

On Thursday, June 17 at about 1 p.m. my daughter and I took my dog for a walk. We ran into two pitbull dogs that were loose. They saw my dog and started attacking him. I kept trying to get the pitbull off of my dog but he would not stop. I finally flagged down a gentleman in his car coming down Humbolt Street and he stopped and held off the dogs while we waited for the police and animal control. In the meantime a young lady and another gentleman stopped and helped with our injuries.

I cannot express how grateful I am to the people who stopped to help us on Camille Street. If it were not for your help, my dog may not have survived this attack.

Once again thank you with all my heart! Thank you!

Local vendors support event

Saturday June 26 Indian Hills GID's Recreation Department held it's fourth annual Summer Kick-Off in James Lee Park.

Even during these difficult economic times, local community vendors supported this fun filled day at the park.

Without your generous donations this event would not have been such a remarkable success, we sincerely appreciate your contributions!
