Obituary: Richard (Dick) E. Porteur

Services for Richard (Dick) E. Porteur, 89, will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Fernley with a reception following at their home. Mr. Portereur died July 5, 2010, at his home in Carson City. He was born Nov. 20, 1920, in Clovis, Calif. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson; sister Annabell Lee Appling; brother David Porteur; and friend Ken Ching. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joy Hodges Porteur; children Kraig Porteur, Michele McCandlish and Lance Porteur; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother Jess O'Farrell.
