A 23-year-old woman arrested Saturday night on a warrant was found dead in a holding cell at the jail this morning.
Sheriff Ken Furlong said the woman, whose name was not released, was involved in some type of domestic dispute Saturday night.
"She would not have been arrested, but she had a warrant," said Furlong on Sunday.
The warrant, for speeding, was out of Lyon County. Furlong said the woman had been treated for a medical condition at a Reno hospital earlier Saturday.
He said that early Sunday morning jail staff checked on her to ask if she wanted breakfast. When staff returned with the food, the woman was dead, said Furlong.
Her cause of death is under investigation, he said.
