Carson Tahoe SPCA is sponsoring a pet adoption day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Carson City Petsmart on Fairview Drive. Joining them will be Dog Town Canine Rescue, Safe Haven Kennel Club and Carson City Animal Services.
There will be dogs, cats and kittens available for adoption spanning from Petsmart to Office Depot. The Red Cross will be demonstrating dog/cat CPR, author Areta Frost will be available to sign copies of her new children's book "Can You Suppose Dogs in Clothes?" Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital will be on hand offering summer tips for your pets. An ice cream truck also will be on hand for the event.
People are encouraged to come out and show support for the homeless pets.
