District Attorney Neil Rombardo is unveiling an elder abuse prevention program at the Carson City Senior Center on Monday.

Frankee Haynes, Victim-Witness Services coordinator with the DA's Office said, the S.A.V.E. (Stop Abuse of the Vulnerable & Elderly) Program was created to protect vulnerable and older persons from crime.

"In addition to aggressively prosecuting these crimes, the S.A.V.E. Program will provide services for vulnerable and older persons and educate law enforcement, health care professionals and community advocates to identify and prevent abuse of vulnerable and older persons," said Haynes in a news release.

"Carson City's an older community so we need to let them know we're here to help," Rombardo said. "We're making sure you live your golden years as they are supposed to be - golden."

The public is invited to attend the event at 1 p.m. at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive.

Refreshments will be served.
