City permit center closed during move

The Carson City permit center will be closed Aug.

4-6 while the facilities are being moved to 108 E. Proctor St. The center will reopen at its new location Aug. 9.

The center handles all permits relating to the building, business licenses, engineering, the planning divisions of the Public Works Department. The building division will continue to conduct scheduled building permit inspections during the office closure.

The current center is at 2621 Northgate Lane. The new permit center will be combined with the Office of Business Development, library resource staff and other local economic development and arts agencies as part of a new Business Resource and Innovation Center.

The BRIC is intended to be a one-stop center to assist new businesses and help retain existing businesses in the community.
