A foot ball club of twenty-seven members has been formed in Virginia City to contest with Carson at the Caledonian picnic for a silver cup. Those wishing to join the Carson team, which has not been formed yet, can leave their names at the Appeal office.

Last evening just before sundown, Ivy Baldwin's airship, all of 560 pounds with Baldwin on board, started up the motor, but did not take flight before a select group of onlookers. Powered by a 40-horsepower motor, it seems impossible that the plane can get off the ground, but it will! Baldwin is satisfied!

70 YEARS AGO

Discovery of the body of Clifton Henry Coulter, drowned in the Lahontan reservoir on March 10, was discovered by his father yesterday, Edgar C. Coulter of Virginia City. The search by Coulter and his son, Harry, has been continuous for the past three months. The boy was found 200 feet from where his boat capsized.

50 YEARS AGO

NOTICE TO WATER USERS: Carson City's water supply has reached the critical stage. Your cooperation in watering once a day in the early morning or early evening hours, will eliminate any necessity of taking drastic steps later.

20 YEARS AGO

Storey County is steaming over "Old 27," a historic locomotive a private group wants to restore. The group wants to move the engine to restoration shops owned by Bob Gray. The controversy surrounds moving public property into private ownership, says State Museum Director Scott Miller.
