The free seminar, Let's Get a Jump On Spring will be at 10 a.m. today at the Greenhouse Garden Center.

Owner David Ruf will cover topics including how and when to fertilize, the benefits of using organics, and how to prevent weeds and bugs in your yard and garden this summer by taking measures now.

Weather permitting this seminar will be held outdoors so a jacket may be desired. Call 882-8600 for more information.

Don't attempt to free shrubs under snow, and when it melts avoid working in beds and lawns that are saturated. A gardener's feet can compact and ruin the structure of soils that are waterlogged. If you must work in a wet bed, use a plank to spread your weight.
