Katherine Breckenridge Austin, 63, died March 19, 2010, at her home in Schurz. She was born Nov. 4, 1946, in Schurz to Nina Breckenridge and a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe. She is survived by sister Eunice Conway of Yerington; daughters Tracey Austin of Schurz and Melinda Austin of Lovelock; son Vinny Austin of Schurz; ex-husband Ken of Lovelock; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Highway 208, Yerington. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Walker River Tribal Gym with burial to follow at the Schurz Cemetery. An online guest book can be signed at www.FRFH.net.
