After a brave battle with lung cancer, James R. Woods died peacefully in his home in Winnemucca, Nev., March 25, 2010. He was 60 years old. Though his accomplishments and hobbies were many, to those who knew him he had a magnetic personality, relentless humor, and a talent for carpentry and mechanics. During his time in Vietnam he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Combat Infantryman Badge and the Bronze Star Medal 2nd Award. His surviving children Nick and Renee Woods would like to send their sincere thanks and appreciation to Kerry Laytion and Kim Hunt of Winnemucca Hospice and Tanya Weinsteiner, for the care and kindness given to our father in his last days. With heavy hearts we say goodbye to you dad, you will be missed more than words can say. May you rest in peace.
