Chamber Singers has openings for tenors, basses

Carson Chamber Singers, conducted by Judy Monson, is rehearsing for the annual Pops Party concert to be held at 3 p.m. June 13 at the Governor's Mansion.

The group has immediate openings for tenors and basses. Rehearsals are at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at First United Methodist Church in Carson City.

For the Pops Party concert, the group will perform a program of American music including "Ragtime Song!" by Saundra Berry Musser and Long Beery, the traditional Shaker melody "Simple Gifts," Aaron Copland's adaptation of "Ching-a-Ring Chaw," "One Small Voice" from Sesame Street by Jeff Moss, and "Wheels of a Dream" from the Broadway musical Ragtime.

Carson Chamber Singers also will join forces with the Reno Philharmonic Chorus in two Independence Day concerts with the Reno Philharmonic orchestra. They will perform on July 3 at Bartley Ranch in Reno and on July 4 in Genoa.
