Frank and Jean Jones renewed their wedding vows May 7 at their 60th wedding anniversary celebration at Piper's Opera House in Virginia City.

Tahoe padre Ron Sayed officiated in the renewal of their vows.

They were married May 6, 1950 in Victoria, B.C., Canada and moved to the United States in 1957, spending most of their lives in Northridge, Calif. Frank was a banker and Jean owned a dance studio. They moved to Gardnerville in 2005.

Their daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and George Kahabka, planned, provided and hosted the party with a Western theme. David John and the Comstock Cowboys played. Virginia City Docents attended in full costume along with 160 invited guests dressed in appropriate attire.

The invitation was custom designed by Kristofer Kahabka. Bonanza Cafe, Virginia City, catered the event. The three-tier wedding cake was an exact replica of their original wedding cake.

Guests came from Canada, North Caroline, Oregon and Southern California as well as northwestern Nevada.
