Health Inspections for Oct. 19-Nov.4

The following health inspections are for the period of Oct. 19-Nov. 4:

• Jimboy's Tacos#195 Restaurant, 2190 E. William St., scored 97 points. There was no sanitizer bucket set up. Containers holding ice scoops were dirty inside.

• Dotty's #10 Bar/Lounge, 2260 E. William St., scored 100 points.

• Mallard's Empire Ranch Golf Bar/Lounge, 1875 Fairway Dr., scored 94 points. There is evidence of rodents in the establishment. Droppings were found under the soda machine ice bin. These were cleaned up on the spot. The food contact surfaces of the speed gun holster were not clean and contained debris.

• Mallard's Empire Ranch Golf Kitchen, 1875 Fairway Dr., scored 90 points. The final rinse of the mechanical dishwasher did not have a detectable chlorine residual. Use an approved alternate sanitation process for utensils and dishware until the mechanical dishwasher is repaired. Prepared tartar sauce did not have a label with the date or name. The food contact surfaces of the inside of the ice machine contained some slime buildup on the edge of the ice drop shield. There was no certified food handler present at the time of this inspection.

• JM Discount Liquor Convenience Store, 1501 E. Fifth St. # 102, scored 98 points. There was no cold holding thermometer located in the reach-in refrigerator. The outside garbage/refuse container was not covered. The area was messy and needs to be kept in a more orderly fashion.

• Walmart Supercenter Retail Grocery #3408, 3200 Market St., scored 100 points.

• Walmart Supercenter Produce Department #3408, 3200 Market St., scored 100 points.

• Walmart Supercenter Deli Department #3408, 3200 Market St., scored 100 points.

• Walmart Supercenter Bakery #3408, 3200 Market St., scored 100 points.

• McDonald's #31007 Restaurant, 3200 Market St., scored 100 points.

• Carson City Senior Citizens Center Food Facility, 911 Beverly Dr., scored 100 points.

• China Chef Restaurant, 3135 Highway 50 East, scored 98 points. The dishwasher is dirty inside with grease and food buildup. Th upper half of the ice machine needs cleaning to remove biofilm and calcium carbonate buildup. The cold unit reach-ins have food buildup underneath the handles.

• Raley's #114 Deli Department, 3701 S. Carson St., scored 99 points. No thermometer was found in the sandwich preparation table cold holding unit.

• Raley's #114 Bakery, 3701 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Raley's #114 Restaurant Hot Wok, 3701 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Raley's #114 Restaurant Peet's Coffee & Tea, 3701 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Raley's #114 Meat Department, 3701 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Raley's #114 Produce Department, 3701 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Men Wielding Fire, Inc. Mobile Food Vehicle Caterer, P.O. Box 18804, Reno, scored 95 points. Hand-washing sinks are not convenient or accessible. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces are not clean, do not contain sanitizer residual or are not used properly.

• Brugo's Take & Bake Pizza Restaurant, 3228 N. Carson St. #110, scored 100 points.

• Brugo's Take & Bake Pizza Caterer, 3228 N. Carson St. #110, scored 100 points.

• Starbuck's Coffee #9481 Restaurant, 2320 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• MJ's Sports Bar/Lounge, 3679 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Ed's Dog House Bar/Lounge, 3300 Airport Road, scored 98 points. The floor sinks are dirty. Areas of the wall-floor contacts in both restrooms need repair. The ceiling light in the men's restroom is not shielded.

• Katie's Bar/Lounge, 3481 Highway 50 East, scored 96 points. Found an opened can of fruit juice stored in the bin of customer ice. Found opened cans of fruit juices stored in the reach-in overnight. The ice machine needs cleaning. The 3-C sink is not properly set up for washing glassware. The area between the sink and the wall support in the men's restroom needs caulking. Also, there is no shield for the ceiling light bulb in this restroom.

• Lily's China Bistro Restaurant, 1280 S. Carson St., scored 95 points. Found soups holding at 132 F. Found food stored in open cans in the reach-in. Found a container of skim milk in the walk-in with a "use by" date of 10/08/10. Found wet wiping cloths on food prep surfaces with no measurable residual sanitizer in them.

• Denny's Restaurant #8011, 2299 N. Carson St., scored 99 points. Cloths used on food-contact surfaces do not contain Quat sanitizer residual.

• Jackson's Food Stores #128 Convenience Store, 1400 Rand St., scored 100 points.
