Obituary: Lois L. McFarland

Lois L. McFarland, 78, a resident of Carson City since 1984, was born Sept. 11, 1932 in Forks, Wash., and passed away Nov. 3, 2010 in Carson City.

She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Lois loved entertaining and hosting parties.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Richard McFarland. She is survived by her sons, James McFarland of Ely and Mark Hendrickson (Sara) of Virginia; stepdaughter Sandra Nippel-Donahue of Torrance, Calif.; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandi, Melissa, and Tanya; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ashlee, Ethan, Shayne, and Jeremy.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Lone Mountain Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City.
