A Carson City man pleaded no contest to a weapons charge Monday, effectively bringing to an end a legal battle over child pornography and homemade automatic weapons that began more than a year ago.

Glenn Allen Ware, 60, will be sentenced on Feb. 14 on three counts of possession of child pornography and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon.

Ware was arrested in March 2009 after allegedly trading child pornography online with an uncover federal agent. When the search warrant for the child pornography was served, officers noted a number of homemade weapons in Ware's workshop.

He was arrested in September on weapons charges and his machinery was seized under Nevada's forfeiture law in October 2009.

In exchange for Ware's plea, the machinery will be returned to him and the state will not pursue any other charges stemming from the arrests.

He faces one to five years in prison on the weapons charge, and one to six years in prison on each count of possession of child pornography.

Also before Judge Todd Russell on Monday:

• Nicholas Morrow, 24, was sentenced to three to nine years in prison for what prosecutors dubbed a crime spree.

Morrow was given 12 to 36 months each on two counts of attempted obtaining goods and services under false pretenses, 16 to 40 months for possession of a stolen firearm, and 12 to 32 months on a charge of attempted burglary. Judge Russell rejected Morrow's request for leniency and noted he'd already been given probation once before.

"You had the opportunity to take care of all these things and you chose a course of conduct that led you where you are today," said Russell.

• Mark Edmund Davis, 24, pleaded guilty to fraudulent use of a credit card. He will be sentenced Jan. 31.

• Laurie Ann Hancock, 43, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She will be sentenced on Feb. 21.
