Both parties in Ormsby county have not put their tickets to the field, and as the respective candidates are well known, we shall not review their qualifications here. There is no reason why the Republicans should not elect their ticket from State Senator to Public Administrator.

Nothing short of a miracle can defeat it in t his campaign, as Heaven is not in the habit of suspending the laws of Nature for the benefit of the Democratic Party ... (at that time the Appeal was a Republican-oriented newspaper).

Indian war veterans should send in names. A move is being made to secure pensions for them from the Federal government for volunteer work fighting after the civil war to 1893.

The Nevada state prison population reached an all-time high of 302 inmates this morning. Pheasant and quail seasons opens at sunrise Sunday in Ormsby County. Licensed hunters will be entitled to three pheasants and ten valley quail each day.

Gasoline prices in Carson have dropped despite a "pig" becoming lodged in a military gas pipeline in Benecia three weeks ago. One of the refineries that supplies Northern Nevada is located there.
