Annual Chili Feed

One of the local favorites is the Annual Chili Feed. Join Lt. Gov. Brian K. Krolicki, who will host the annual Chili Feed at the Carson Nugget's upstairs Banquet Center with former Sen. Richard Bryan, who actually started the event 28 years ago. Hit the Nugget and support this event and enjoy free chili and the fixin's with bluegrass-band music and say hello to other state and local leaders. It is election year, not that I have to remind you with all the campaign advertisement hitting the media.

Nevada Day Concert

The Capital City Community Band will open its 32nd concert season with a free "Old-Fashioned Band Concert." The concert coincides with the annual Nevada Day "Steam Up," so you can ride the train and hear the concert. It's a great time for everyone. The concert is free and open to the public. The concert will feature a variety of music, sure to please everyone ears. Children are especially invited to attend with their parents and have a wonderful family day.

ReMax/Nevada Day Balloon Launch

The Nevada Day celebration has had balloons flying in the morning over the parade route for years. As I watch from my backyard, it signals that the Nevada Day Parade will start soon. It's so beautiful to view. You can either enjoy from your home or head down to Dutch Brothers Coffee and see the mass launch.

WHO: Team RE/MAX hot air balloon and 15-20 other hot air balloons

WHAT: Commemorate the day in 1864 when Nevada became the 36th state in the union.

WHEN: 7 a.m. Saturday (just before the Parade)

WHERE: In Front of the old Gottschalk's Store by Dutch Bros Coffee.

COST: Free

NEVADA DAY PARADE SALUTES 100 YEARS OF AVIATION IN NEVADA

The Nevada Day Parade is free and a great event for family and friends. It starts at 10 a.m. Saturday. Check out the website for the parade map and parade line up by division or name.
