Cub Scout Pack 837 has been a busy pack this year, learning and having fun.

The pack consists of Den Leader Chris Peternell, Assistant Den Leader Cindy Johnston, Scouts Kincaid Peternell, Fred Allen, Ethan Byassee, Evan Byassee, Nathan Kechely, Lucas Kassity, Jay Ford, and Tristan Jenkins,

They adopted Davis Creek as the pack "adopt a park," putting in 60-plus hours of community service.

The Cub Scouts spent additional hours helping the Advocates for Domestic Violence, and now are starting to help with yard work at "Mary's Embrace." Pack 837 also participated in the opening flag ceremony for the new Bristlecone Family Eye Center, and the pack's sponsor, the Elks Lodge, in the same day.

The Cub Scouts have taken time for fun too, with family campouts, participating in day camp, went to Camp Fleischmann, the 2010 Jamboree and they also completed 10.4-mile hike to the summit of Mt. Rose at an elevation of 10,776 feet.

The Scouts will be selling popcorn again this year to earn their way to more adventures. If you would like to support the Scouts, and troops overseas, Cub Scout Pack 837 will be selling popcorn in front of Raley's, Lowes, Smiths and Savemart between Sept. 18 and Oct. 23.
