Bountiful harvest at farmers market

The season is still in full swing this week at the Downtown 3rd & Curry St. Farmers Market. If you are planning on doing some canning, now is the time to get your tomatoes, peaches, green beans and any berries for jamming. If you have any senior coupons left you need to use them.

"On a last note, I want to thank everyone who voted for the 3rd & Curry St. market in America's Favorite Market Contest," Market Manager Linda Marrone said. "Because of all your wonderful support we took best market in the State. We also placed 10th in the top 20 markets in the U.S. in the small market category."

The Downtown Farmers Market is open 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 3rd & Curry streets and has two Saturdays to go. Entertaining today is Nathan Alanz.
