Proposals sought for naming new urban fishing pond

The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department invites all citizens interested in submitting a written proposal to officially name the new one-acre urban fishing pond located at the Carson City Fairgrounds to do so.

A detailed letter with reasons for the nomination must be received no later than 5 p.m. Sept. 24. They can be mailed or hand-

delivered to the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department at 3303 Butti Way, Building #9, Carson City, NV 89701.

All proposals will be presented to the Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission at its regularly scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5 in the Sierra Room at the Community Center, 851 E. William St. All citizens who submit proposals are encouraged to attend this public meeting.

The Parks and Recreation Commission will submit a final recommendation to the Carson City Board of Supervisors for approval and adoption.
