Carson Guard reception: The victorious Carson Guard held a reception at their Armory ... the men showed that they could go through their evolutions with as much precision as they could shoot. Capt. Moger with an elegantly waxed moustache and goatee was the center of attraction.

The water cure: A drunken man staggered in front of Jenny Forrest's and laid down in front of her door. She expostulated with him on his conduct in a manner that no sober man could bare to understand. Then her prohibition blood rose to a boiling point, and she turned the hose on him. He staggered to his feet, and she drenched his clothes from head to foot ... chasing him past the Appeal.

70 YEARS AGO

The marriage of Belle Greiner and Mr. Thurman Cross was solemnized in St. Theresa's Church. Mr. and Mrs. Cross will make their home in Carson City, where Mr. Cross is superintendent of the Water Company, and Mrs. Cross is local manager for the Bell Telephone Company ...

The first fall meeting of Carson City Business and Professional Women's club was held at the Greeno hotel with Cora Austin presiding. Program coordinator Dorcas Wilson outlined the club program ...
