RENO (AP) - An elderly wrong-way driver crashed into a motorcycle on the edge of Reno, killing the female motorcyclist from California.

Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Chuck Allen says troopers already were responding to reports of a wrong-way driver when the fatal crash occurred on U.S. Highway 395 just north of Reno about 11:15 p.m. Thursday.

Roberta Baragona was thrown from her Honda RS and pronounced dead at the scene. The 49-year-old woman from Landers, Calif., was in town for the Street Vibrations motorcycle festival. Three other cyclists riding with her escaped injury, including her brother.

The 85-year-old driver of the two-door sedan, a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, was identified as Blaine A. Brooks of San Francisco. He was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center, where his condition has not been disclosed.
