RENO - Carson High's baseball team extended its win streak to four with an easy 11-0 win over North Valleys Thursday afternoon in a 4A game.

For the second straight day, Carson reached double-digits in hits (16). Carson improved to 10-3 overall and 6-2 in league play.

"it's been nice," Carson coach Cody Farnworth said. "We're swinging it like we should."

Farnworth made one change in the batting order, moving Rory Petersen to the second spot in place of Brock Pradere, and both players hit the ball well in their new spots. Petersen went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs, while Pradere went 2-for-2 and drove in a run.

"Rory has been hitting the ball, so we thought we'd give it a try," Farnworth said. "We decided that Brock would get to see more fastballs."

Besides Petersen's three hits, Nick Domitrovich, Pradere and Chance Quilling had two hits apiece.

Carson scored twice in the first when Domitrovich was hit by a pitch and scored on Petersen's double. Petersen also scored on the play thanks to a North Valleys error.

Carson made it 6-0 in the second, scoring four times off NV starter Mason Blake, who allowed 10 runs and eight hits in four innings. The big blow in the inning was a two-run double by Petersen.

Carson added two in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the fifth to end the game on the mercy rule.

Casey Wolfe worked the first three innings, striking out two and walking one while allowing three hits. Carter Nuckolls finished up, walking one and allowing one hit over the final two innings.

"Casey finished up the other day," Farnworth said. "We needed somebody to chew up some innings. he did a nice job for us. Carter did a good job on the mound, too."

Carson returns to action Saturday at 11 a.m. at Damonte Ranch for a single game. Carson lost a 4-3 game to Damonte in the opening game of the Mike Bearman Invitational.
