Obituary: Joseph C. Brown

Joseph C. Brown, 89, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2011 at his home in Reno, Nevada.

Joe was born and raised in Pauline Logan County, Kentucky and was one of eight siblings born to the late Clint and Nellie Brown. Joe married the late Zoe (Pellens) Brown in 1941. Joe is survived by one brother, Clint, as well as sons Kurt of Carson City and his wife JoAnn and Bruce of Sparks. Also surviving Joe are daughter-in-law Paula of Sparks, grandsons Randy of Reno and his wife Natalie and Jason of Carson City and his wife Kara; and one granddaughter Shelly of Reno. Joe is also survived by his beloved great-grandchildren Austin, Jack and Hope.

Joe touched the lives of his many family and friends during his nearly 60 years in Reno. He enjoyed traveling, going to work every day, spending time with his family, keeping up with current events and watching the San Francisco Giants play ball.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation preceding the memorial service. Visitation hours are 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Walton's Funeral Home, 875 West Second Street in Reno. Memorial services are immediately following at 11 a.m., also at Walton's. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 435 Stoker Avenue in Reno. A gathering will take place immediately following the burial.

The family extends sincere thanks and gratitude to the wonderful people who helped care for Joe in his final years.
