Molly Gingell, owner of Molly's Gourmet Catering & Take Out, announced late Thursday that after 11 years the business is closing on July 22.
Molly's is closing so that Gingell can follow her husband, Terry Gingell, a PGA Class A golf professional, to Palo Alto, Calif., where he has accepted a position with Stanford University.
"At moments I feel like crying, and other times I'm so excited," says certified Cordon Bleu chef Gingell. "We are following Terry. It's his turn.
"But before we move on, we want to say thank you to Carson City and pay forward our appreciation by helping out - right down to the last bite."
As its last act, Molly's is hosting an "all donations welcome" farewell to benefit the Carson City Greenhouse Project and to raise awareness about the new library in downtown Carson City.
The event will take place from 4:30-6 p.m. on July 22 at Molly's Gourmet Catering & Take Out, 220 West John St.
"We raised our three beautiful children here and one of the great privileges of Molly's Gourmet Catering and Take Out is that all of us were given the opportunity to earn a trusted place in people's hearts. The kids and I are immensely proud of Molly's many accomplishments," Terry Gingell said. o
