Obituary: Sue Ann Blackledge

Jan. 17, 1940 - July 19, 2011

Sue Ann (Gresham) Blackledge was born in Seminole, Okl., and moved to the Carson Valley region in 1956 where she continued to reside until her peaceful passing.

Sue worked as a dealer supervisor for Harvey's Resort and Casino before becoming a telephone operator at Continental Telephone Company. After earning her Office Management Certificate at Western Nevada Community College, she became an office manager for a variety of businesses in Douglas County.

Sue was an excellent gardener and enjoyed many arts and crafts projects. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed classic country music, was a Citizens Band Ham operator under the handle, "Suzie Q" and remained a faithful Oklahoma Sooners football fan.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Sophia Gresham. She is survived by sister, Jean (Jerry) Bergeron of Dallas; daughter Jami-Sue (Gil) Coleman of Reno, son Mike Blackledge of Gardnerville, daughter Kathie (Jeff) Jarboe of Gardnerville, and daughter Samantha Stephenson of Gardnerville. She is also survived by grandchildren Kristin and Kyle Jarboe, and Mikael McCreary all of Gardnerville, Carson and Sierra Coleman of Reno, and great grandson Ryder Jarboe of Gardnerville.

A funeral Mass will be held on August 5, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Saint Teresa of Avila Catholic Community, 3000 N. Lompa Lane, Carson City. For information on a reception to follow in Gardnerville, please call 775-265-3383. Memorial contributions may be made in Sue's name to Minden Douglas County Public Library, P. O. Box 337, Minden, NV 89423. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City.
