A fundraiser is set for Saturday to benefit Bobby the boxer who suffers from cerebellar hypoplasia, an untreatable condition resulting from lack of brain development at birth. Bobby was dumped at a park in April 2010, and Joanne Lofthouse adopted him. She relies on donations for Bobby's continuing care - he goes to physical therapy weekly to strengthen his back legs - and he also is in need of a second wheelchair since he is outgrowing the first one bought with community donations.

A breakfast and silent auction is being held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.

Tickets are $10 for adults. Children younger than 10 are free. There will be prizes and live music. Contact Sherrie at 775-790-0030 or Joanne at 775-291-2733 to purchase tickets or make a donation. Checks also can be mailed to Bobby the Boxer Benefit,
