'Women's Voices' heard tonight

Dr. Doris Dwyer presents "Women's Voices from the Overland Trail" in a lecture at 7-8 p.m. tonight at the Nevada State Museum.

Dwyer will present stories from women's diaries and the reminisences of early pioneers who traveled westward on the trail. These accounts vividly portray the hardships of pioneer life, the relationship of people to the landscape, and the character of the remarkable women who inspired others on the long journey.

Nevada State Museum, 600 N. Carson St. Doors open at 6 p.m. for exhibit viewing in the main building. Lecture begins at 7 p.m. 775-687-4810 ext. 237.
