Occupy Carson City organizer Janette Dean called an impromptu demonstration outside Nevada's Legislature Thursday to keep the movement in front of western Nevada officials and residents.

Because of the short notice - just two hours - there were just seven people there at 12:30 p.m.

But that didn't dampen their enthusiasm as more than half the drivers passing them on Carson Street were honking their support.

Dean said she is planning for a much bigger turnout Saturday. The group has been turning out to protest every Saturday in support of the Wall Street protesters in New York.

Asked for some of their goals, she said laws must be changed to again bar commercial banks and investment banks from unifying as single companies. She said doing so would create a check and balance that blocks the most risky types of investments from happening again.

And she said the court ruling that allowed corporations to make unlimited contributions to political campaigns must be reversed.

"We want corporationsto pay their fair share," she said. "They're supposed to pay 35 percent. Half ofthem pay nothing."
