The Mirror of Ireland. It will be seen that the Dan Morris Sullivan's Mirror of Ireland and Irish Comedy Company will appear at the Opera House on Wednesday. The play will be of comic character, entitled "A Trip Through the Emerald Isle." In connection is a panorama consisting of one hundred paintings.

100 YEARS AGO

The Secretary of the Interior has released 523,440 acres from temporary withdrawal to the proposed Silver Mountains National forest in west central Nevada. The lands will be subject to public settlement under the homestead laws on and after December 26, 1911. The lands are in Churchill and Humboldt Counties and in the Carson City land district.

70 YEARS AGO

Lee J. Conaway, a Caliente youth who was killed in a plane crash in Corpus Christi, Texas, attended the University of Nevada where he was on the 1940 basketball team. He enlisted in the Navy air corps and was on a routine flight when he met his death.

50 YEARS AGO

Carson JV's play their last game of the season tonight against Yerington due to Yerington taking Friday off to go deer hunting.

20 YEARS AGO

A potent early-season storm drops more than a foot of snow in the Lake Tahoe basin, with heavy rain at lake level.

Halloween goodies will be getting the once-over by health officials and by fire departments across the city. The program was enacted in the light of the anthrax scare sweeping the nation.
