Shooting victim remembered

Family friend Suzy Krzaczek remembers Florence "Florrie" Donovan-Gunderson as "incredibly generous" and "incredibly full of life."

"That woman had the energy of a 25-year-old," Krzaczek said. "She was always going at 100 mph."

Donovan-Gunderson, a part-time South Lake Tahoe resident, was killed after a man open fired in a Carson City International House of Pancakes restaurant where she was having breakfast with her husband Wally Gunderson. Four others, including the suspected gunman Eduardo Sencion, were killed. Wally Gunderson was injured. His condition is unknown and he remains in either Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center or Renown Hospital, according to officials.

The couple has owned a condo in the Tahoe Keys since 1970. Krzaczek's parents were close friends of the Gundersons. When Krzaczek's father died, Donovan-Gunderson often comforted her mother, she said.

"I just think they always put their family and friends first," Krzaczek said. "They were the kind of people you were proud to have as friends."

Donovan-Gunderson was 67.
