Denise Dunning passed away peacefully and unafraid on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada after another courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends, who she assured she was going to heaven. She left a legacy of selfless love that will be remembered forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on Friday, September 16, 2011, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City, Nevada. A reception honoring Denise will take place immediately following at the Calvary Chapel of Carson City.

Denise was born on June 22, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN, just 6 minutes after her identical twin sister Debbie. She was the third of Leonard Johnson and Corrine Lynch's four children, including sisters Dawn and Debbie, and brother Bryan. Denise grew up in Las Vegas, forging friendships that have lasted a lifetime. She moved to the Carson City area in 1984 with her former husband, Bill Dunning, to raise sons Brandon and Scott. Carson City was a better place with her there.

In addition to her many friends and cherished extended family, she loved three grandchildren, Brennan, Karrisa, and Madison. They brought her joy that can't be described and peace in an often chaotic world.

Denise Dunning was a friend to everyone she met. She was tireless if there was work to be done, selfless if there was a reason to give, hilarious if you were in need of a laugh, and would never judge if you had to confess. We will miss her for now.
