RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Tyler Spencer threw five innings of 1-hit baseball and Dillon Ness drove in two runs to spark Western Nevada College to a 3-1 win over Riverside Friday night.

The win upped WNC's record to 10-5 heading into today's series finale at 1 p.m.

"We pitched great," WNC coach D.J. Whittmore said. "They are a good hitting team. When we look back at this game, we'll know we beat a really good team."

Anthony Consiglio threw three innings of 1-hit ball and Rayne Raven allowed one hit in his only inning of work to pick up the save.

Whittemore was pleased with the way his team put the ball in play against Matt Chabot, who entered the game with 18 strikeouts in 11 innings. Chabot fanned just four batters in six innings.

WNC scored once in the first on a single by A.J. Hernandez and a double by Ness. The Wildcats added two more in the third on run-scoring hits by Ness and Raven.
