MINDEN (AP) — A sheriff’s official says it’ll take time to identify two bodies recovered from the wreckage of a small plane found in the mountains about 20 miles southeast of the Minden-Tahoe Airport.
Douglas County sheriff’s Sgt. Pat Brooks said Friday it’ll be up to medical examiners in Washoe County to determine if the bodies are missing pilot Cory Marble from Reno and his missing 21-year-old girlfriend from Minden.
The wrecked Cessna 182 was discovered Thursday afternoon in the Pine Nut Mountains.
Authorities say the plane departed from the North Las Vegas Airport about 6 p.m. Sunday.
Marble’s mother, Kay Lynn Marble, said her 30-year-old son was returning from a weekend business trip in southern Nevada when he vanished.
Cory Marble works as a professional pilot with an air ambulance company.
