Two California residents were arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of burglary, credit card fraud, theft and other counts.
According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office:
An employee at a laundromat reported Saturday night that her purse had been stolen from behind the counter, and that it contained a firearm. About 10 a.m. the following morning, someone reported finding the purse, and the deputy learned that several of the credit cards it had contained had been used at Walmart on Market Street.
The deputy went to the store and spoke to a loss-prevention specialist. He found David Elden Bennett, 27, of Markleeville, Calif., and Samantha Ann Henry, 27, of Dresslerville, Calif., shopping in the automotive section of the store.
Henry was arrested on suspicion of burglary, fraud/credit card, fraud, possession of stolen property, theft, grand larceny firearm and defrauding a taxi. Bennett was arrested on suspicion of burglary, fraud, fraud/credit card, possession of stolen property, theft, grand larceny firearm and defrauding a taxi.
Bail was set at $25,000 for each. Both were being held Monday at the Carson City Jail.
