Firefighters from the Fallon Churchill Fire Department responded to a single home blaze early this morning which left a family of five homeless.
Fire Chief Fred Rogne said when firemen arrived at the county home, the structure was fully engulfed. The occupants were in California at the time but have since returned.
Coincidentally, the fire was next door to a home that fire destroyed on Super Bowl Sunday.
Rogne said 28 firefighters, two tenders (water trucks), three engines and a truck responded to douse water on the flames. Rogne said the fog was so thick that he didn’t see the flames until the trucks were about 200 yards away. Firemen worked in below-freezing temperatures.

The LVN is still assisting a young man whose apartment was damaged when a neighbor’s furnace exploded. He is in need of 34x32 pants, XL shirts and size 11 1/2/-12 shoes.
The family of five has been receiving help from family and friends. With many thrift stores on holiday hours, items are needed for the family:
Bedding, blankets, towels
Cash or gift-card donations for food
Canned, nonperishable-types of food
Cooking utensils
Clothing
13-year-old boy: 16/18 pants, men’s mediuum shorts
6-year-old boy, size 7/7 pants and shorts
9-year-old girl, size 8/9 blouses, pants
Adult male, XL shirts, 36-32 pants, size 11 shoes
