The Aces finished the first half on a strong note Sunday afternoon, extending their winning streak to a season-high six games with a 4-0 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium.

The win completed Reno’s first series sweep of the season, and their longest win streak since May 2012. Reno also advanced to 5-4 in shutout contests this season. Aces pitchers allowed just three runs in the four-game series.

Garrett Mock gave up just three hits, while striking out seven, through the first six innings of the game. Three Reno relievers combined to complete the shutout through the final three innings, allowing just two hits.

Reno’s offense continued to flourish, despite the absence of infielders Matt Davidson and Chris Owings, tallying 11 hits in the contest. The top of the order combined to go 7-for-13 (.538), including a 3-for-4 performance by first baseman Mike Jacobs. Seven of Reno’s nine batters collected at least one hit on the afternoon.

The Aces will now enjoy the All-Star break, before returning to Aces Ballpark to face the Las Vegas 51’s on Thursday. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
