Johnson graduates from University of Kansas

Travis Johnson of Gardnerville graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism. The Class of 2013 includes more than 1,440 students who completed degree work in summer and fall 2012.


Meghan Raebel named to dean’s list at Ripon College

Meghan Raebel of Minden has been named to the spring 2013 dean’s list at Ripon College in Ripon, Wis. Raebel was also the recipient of the 2013 Biology Service Award, an honor that recognizes the biology laboratory assistant who has contributed most effectively to the operation of laboratories in biology.

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must achieve a 3.4 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale and complete at least 12 credits of regular letter-graded work.

Raebel is a senior biology major. She is the daughter of Shelley Raebel of Minden and William Raebel of Las Vegas.


Valerius graduates from Hamline University

Samantha L. Valerius graduated magna cum laude with a juris doctor degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul. Minn. on May 17. She will begin a year-long judicial clerkship in August with the Honorable James Todd Russell, judge of the First Judicial District Court of Nevada.

Valerius is a 2006 graduate of Carson High School.
