Tahoe-Douglas Elks Lodge 2670 honored Lloyd Higuera as their Citizen of the Year at a dinner on March 8. Higuera was recognized for his service to Carson Valley since his arrival in 1985.
Lloyd started and ran Gardnerville’s only Radio station from 1985 to 2004. In 2006 he volunteered at the Community Access Television Station and in 2010 became the Manager for CATV.
Since coming to the Carson Valley, he has served on the Parks and Recreation Board, Senior Services Advisory Council, Chamber of Commerce and the Douglas County Education Foundation. He currently serves on the Library Board and the Gardnerville Town Board.
