Julian Lomas graduates from basic training

Army Private First Class Julian Lomas has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Lomas studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, was involved in physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

Lomas is the son of Leticia Lomas of Carson City. He is a 2012 graduate of Douglas High School.


Nicholas Stone graduates from basic training

Army Reserve Private Nicholas S. Stone has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Stone studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, was trained in physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

Stone is the son of Bryan and Jo Gentry of Pahrump and the grandson of Nicholas Gillen of Carson City. He is a 2012 graduate of Pahrump Valley High School.
