Business garb topic of Wednesday meeting

Fashion columnist Karri Grant will present “Signature Style: What it is and How to Get it” at the next eWomenNetwork dinner, set for 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Hidden Valley Country Club, 3575 E. Hidden Valley Drive in Reno.

The presentation will cover techniques to create a signature style; ideas on how to communicate a message through image; and spring wardrobe ideas to enhance business attire.

The cost is $40 for eWomenNetwork members and $60 for nonmembers.

Lumos is honored for “Project of the Year”

Lumos & Associates of Carson City has been recognized by the Nevada Chapter of the American Public Works Association.

The company’s work on an airport improvements at Eureka was recognized by the association as “Project of the Year” for transportation projects valued at less than $5 million.

Chromalloy Gas Turbine wins contract with Navy

Chromalloy Gas Turbine Corp. of Carson City last week won a $177,404 contract from the Navy for repair and modification of gas turbines. Separately, Chromalloy won an additional contract for repair work valued at $100,608.

Fitch upgrades outlook for NV Energy debt

Fitch Ratings upgraded its outlook for about $5 billion in NV Energy debt last week.

The rating agency said the utility has significantly reduced its debt, works within a state regulatory framework that’s balanced and has relatively little demand for major new spending. On the other hand, Fitch notes that the economic recovery remains sluggish in Nevada.
